Hi, welcome to our website.

First some introductions; my name is Mario H. Jungmann, founder of CritterKingNL.

CritterKingNL is an initiative of a group of Dutch and Flemish enthusiasts who keep and breed rare and sometimes endangered species of reptile and amphibian. So we are not a webshop or have any commercial interests at heart. Keeping and breeding these interesting animals is a passion and is done on a nonprofit basis. But we are registered at the Dutch chamber of commerce and have a VAT license for (inter)national trade when required.

Some history; I’ve been a hobby breeder of several species of Amphibians, Reptiles and tropical fresh- and saltwater Fish for more than 25 years.
I’ve switched from hobby to more professional breeding in 2003 when I started breeding more species on a larger scale.

First specializing only in Leopard Geckos (Eublepharis macularius) and later adding more species of Geckos, including Phesuma and African Fattails. In 2010 I started some breeding projects with Madagascar Chameleons and have been very successful with breeding Furcifer Verrucosus (Madagascar Spiny Chameleon) and Furcifer oustaleti (Madagascar Giant Chameleon).

In 2012 I added Furcifer pardalis (Panther Chameleon) from Ambilobe (Blue Bar), Sambava and Nosy Bé island island to our portfolio. Later in 2013 I went back to my old passion, montane species from Tanzania and Cameroon like Usambara Giant Three-horned or Wavy Chameleons (Trioceros deremensis), Jackson’s Three-Horned Chameleons (Trioceros jacksonii xantholopus and Trioceros jacksonii merumontanus), Werner’s Three-Horned Chameleons (Trioceros werneri), Two-Horned Mountain Chameleons (Trioceros montium) and Helmeted or High-Casqued Chameleons (Trioceros hoehnelii). I have succesfully bred several of these species as a hobby breeder since 1995!

My goal is to support others with their breeding efforts by sharing as much of my experience as possible. Specially with Montane species of chameleon we have just started to scratch the surface on captive husbandy techniques and insights. After so many years we are finally a team of enthusiasts with the same motovation and passion!
